Behind the Build: A Brushed, Matte-Metallic Edge

If you've followed any number of Vaccar builds, then you've likely seen that we enjoy trying out new paint  colors, finishes, and textures.  It's not uncommon for people to 'touch and feel' our project vehicles at events, because they can't believe it's actually paint.  In fact, we take it as a compliment when we overhear a person utter "it's vinyl" to their friends, as they rub their hands over the hood or trunk - only to be shocked when we chime in to say, "nope it's BASF sprayed by Canfield Collision!"

Who's Canfield Collision?  Short for Canfield Collision & Custom, they're the company who has painted each and everyone of our Vaccar-managed project vehicles.  In the small town of Canfield, OH this small team creates big colors that produce even bigger reactions!  Vaccar works hand-in-hand, coming up with wild ideas for possible finishes - but Canfield C&C is the team that figures out how to produce the actual chemical creation, and then lays it down.
Using a variety of BASF products, Canfield C&C has helped Vaccar showcase finishes such as unique matte-metallics, new flat colors, brushed metal-looks and more.

Most recently, they worked on our 2015 Ford Edge Sport for Ford Motor Company's booth at the 2015 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.  For this car, we put a spin on one of our most popular looks - the brushed metal simulation (originally debuted on our 2010 Ford Fusion Sport at SEMA '09).  Typically, this is achieved with a glossy final coat, but Canfield C&C sprayed it for us in flat silver!  It pairs well with the rest of the car's matte finish, and both are really complimented by the glossy orange accents.  It's truly been a "touch and feel" type of paint for people that see it in person!
